Made in Los Angeles

We received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback on our willingness to show what’s going on behind the scenes. Here is a timeline to walk you through the development and production of the Japanese Canvas ‘Double Knee’ Short.

Step 1

In 2023, we matched with our manufacturer, who’s operation and capabilities appeared compatible with the brand’s vision to execute luxury quality garments.

Step 2

Designing product #1, we mocked up a design and specific measurements to hand off to our pattern-maker.

Step 3

After multiple rounds of revisions on our first hardware CADs, we began receiving physical samples that we fine tuned and ultimately approved for production.

Step 4

The highlight feature of the short (in our opinion). approval for the back pocket embossing was a green light.

Step 5

Picking up our completed sample, which gave us a visual reference on the fit of the shorts for the first time. we were not disappointed.

Step 6

We visited multiple fabric houses, where we ultimately decided on a 12 ounce Japanese canvas. We were very particular and thorough in our selection of the material.

Step 7

Lab dips got sent back and fourth until perfected. The brown short was actually last minute audible, as we weren’t satisfied with this run of beige dyes. We think it ended up being for the better.

Step 8

While in town, we caught the constructed shorts before getting sent to the dye house. this was the homestretch.

Step 9

Drove to LA at 4am after landing on a red eye from ATL to pick up our final production units.

Step 10

The fun part. Shooting everything you guys saw this week 🖤
